Who We Are Looking For:

You will be working with a team of Software & Platform Automation Engineers focused on designing, developing and implementing products built on Infrastructure-as-Code using industry standard tools and languages. This role will be key in our mission to create highly available, high performing products that provide a seamless experience for our multi-cloud clients.

What You Will Do:

  • Create and extend the lambdas that back our platform APIs
  • Develop infrastructure as code to meet the needs of our platforms and products
  • Participate in a team of developers, mentor/pair code with more Jr. Developers
  • Create the backlog necessary to guide projects to “Done”
  • Create and maintain functional / technical design specifications and solutions to satisfy project requirements
  • Participate in tool selections and integrations
  • Monitor application stability and performance and troubleshoot / resolve issues

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in systems engineering, computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering or an equivalent combination of education, training, and field experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of development experience
  • Experience with Python TypeScript and Shell scripting
  • Strong experience with configuration management software. Ansible and Terraform preferred. Puppet, Chef, etc. a plus
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum development team
  • Experience with container technologies (preferably Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience with VMWare technologies
  • Deep Linux experience
  • You enjoy collaborating with others and treating everyone with respect

Desirable Qualifications: We encourage candidates to apply even if you don’t hit all the marks

  • AWS Architect / DevOps certification
  • Experience with REST APIs, OpenAPI, Swagger
  • Experience with filesystems: NFS, ZFS, XFS
  • Experience in distributed computing, high availability, pacemaker
  • Automation experience – build, test, deployment automation, post-release surveillance and monitoring
  • Experience in product development
  • An understanding of patterns and algorithms
  • RESTful APIs; consumption and production, including schema generation from models, or code generation from API specifications or models
  • Experience with system, network, and/or storage engineering and/or domain knowledge with systems, network, and storage
  • Experience with virtualization and/or cloud technologies, especially at the API layer (Especially AWS, Azure and VMware APIs)
